FAQ

Questions brands and creators ask before they start

Compliance, timelines, YouTube briefing, what you get, and how applications work. Straight answers — no invented guarantees.

For brands

Do you work only in firearms and outdoor?

Yes — that is the focus. Regulated-category literacy (platform policy, disclosure, safer creative angles) is part of the product, not a surprise in week three.

What do brands actually get?

Depends on scope, but typically: creator shortlists, T&E logistics and content windows, YouTube-safer briefs and checklists, affiliate recruitment and roster ops (when engaged), and period reporting — content posted, plus clicks, orders, and program cost when we manage affiliate.

How long does a T&E wave take?

Intake and matching often land in days to a couple of weeks depending on SKU complexity and sample availability. Ship-to-publish depends on creator calendars — we set content windows up front rather than hoping for “sometime.”

Can you guarantee views, sales, or platform approval?

No. We manage process, briefing quality, and attribution hygiene. Platforms change enforcement; audiences decide. We optimize for honest coverage that stays up and can be tracked — not vanity guarantees.

How do you handle YouTube and other platform policies?

We brief with a risk ladder (educational/review vs instructional vs sensational), safer angles, and pointers to official Help and FTC materials. See our free guide, Navigating YouTube’s Firearms Rules. We do not invent policy text.

Do you run Meta/Google ads for restricted products?

We plan channel strategy that accounts for restrictions. Paid social and search for restricted SKUs is often limited or unavailable; we emphasize creator, affiliate, email, owned, and compliant alternatives rather than promising workarounds.

Will you put our logo on your site?

Only with written approval. Until then we use anonymized case metrics and category chips (precision accessories, optics, tripods, rifle platforms).

What does getting started look like?

A short brand inquiry (company, site, what is stuck, timeline). We reply in 1–2 business days (ET), then scope goals and compliance before samples move.

Project vs retainer?

Project = single wave or standup. Retainer = ongoing T&E + affiliate ops with monthly reporting. Hybrid = launch project that converts to a managed program.

For creators

How do I apply?

Use the forms on For Creators — affiliate, T&E sample request, or general intro. Applications go through 2A, not open DMs to brand inboxes.

Is approval automatic?

No. Roster fit, content quality, and honesty of coverage matter. Accurate stats and clear links help.

What do creators get?

Clear asks (product, angle, disclosure, content window), T&E samples when matched, affiliate codes and links through programs we manage, and one inbox for program questions once in-flight.

What do you expect from creators?

FTC-compliant disclosure on paid, gifted, and affiliate coverage; communication if a sample will not hit the publish window; and evaluations that can include pros and cons — we brief brands that strong reviews beat fluff.

Do I have to be on SlavGuns or a public roster?

No. SlavGuns is an owned consumer channel operated separately. Programs are matched by niche fit across precision, optics, and general firearms coverage.

How fast will I hear back?

We aim for 1–2 business days (ET) on complete applications. Sample queues and brand calendars affect T&E timing.
